What Is Shillong Teer?

Shillong Teer is a notable archery-based lottery game that draws participants from Shillong, nearby regions, and other Northeast states. As a traditional local sport of the Khasi tribe, this speculative lottery requires players to place bets on numbers ranging from 0 to 99. Following the betting phase, local archers shoot arrows at designated targets during Round 1 and Round 2, with the last two digits of the total arrows hitting the target selected as the winning numbers. Shillong Teer games operate completely legally and are regularised under the Meghalaya Amusement and Betting Tax Act, serving as a cultural staple in Meghalaya that showcases a unique blend of skills and traditions.
