New Delhi, May 10: A student from Jammu and Kashmir with twitter location as “Indian occupied Kashmir” in his bio was tutored by external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday after he asked for help from the Philippines. Swaraj is known for her promptness in helping Indians stuck in difficult situations.

Sheikh Ateeq, addresses the external affairs minister in his tweet from his twitter handle @SAteEQ019. He requested Swaraj to help him with getting a new passport and said he needed to get back to his home for a medical checkup

Ateeq sought help from Swaraj for help on April 5.  “Dear ma’am @SushmaSwaraj I greatly need your help. Is there anything u can do to rush the process of my passport as it is damaged. I need to get back to my home, India. My health is deteriorating and I cannot shoulder the expenses any more as I’m student (sic),” he said in his earlier tweet.

Swaraj replied Ateeq wittily to Ateeq by saying that she would have helped him if he belonged to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The external affairs minister tweeted, “Your profile says you are from ‘Indian occupied Kashmir’. There is no place like that.”

After getting the minister’s reply Ateeq immediately changed his location to Jammu and Kashmir. After confirming the change in location by Ateeq, Sushma Swaraj tweeted to Indian Embassy in Manila for helping Ateeq. She tweeted, “I am happy you have corrected the profile. Jaideep - He is an Indian national from J&K. Pls help him.”

People appreciated both of Swaraj's tweets. But now, Ateeq has deleted his Twitter profile.
