Sonepat, June 5: A fight on a WhatsApp group took a turn for the worse leading to a 28-year-old man being killed in Haryana. The deceased, identified as Love Johar, was beaten to death by rivals outside the house of the main accused late Sunday night. According to ANI, the incident took place in Sonepat.

Three others were also injured in the brawl. As per details given out by the police, a case has been registered against the accused. As of now, all the accused are absconding.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, police informed that the group had several members of the area sharing the same Johar ‘gotra’ (clan) and Love was the admin of a WhatsApp group called ‘Johars’.

Investigating officer Shri Krishan said the WhatsApp group was formed to identify all the extended family members of their ‘gotra’ living nearby so their community could collectively take decisions, such as which party to vote for in elections.

According to reports, the incident was triggered after Love accidentally shared a personal photo in the WhatsApp group. Soon after the photo was sent on the group, it led to arguments between Love and the accused Dinesh alias Bunty Johri.
