Lucknow, June 25: Last week, huge drama unfolded when an interfaith couple, a Hindu wife and a Muslim husband accused an official from the Lucknow Passport Seva Kendra for discriminating and misbehaving with them owing to their religion. Tanvi shared her alleged ordeal on social media and tagged External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in it. Post the furore made by the couple, MEA intervened and asked the Lucknow Passport Seva Kendra to issue a passport to the couple immediately. The concerned passport officer Vikas Mishra was transferred with immediate effect.

However, the matter didn't end here because Vikas Kumar denied misbehaving with the couple and highlighted that he was only doing his duty because the woman concerned was not carrying her proper papers. Post this, political leaders like Rajiv Tuli from RSS and Subramanian Swamy questioned the issuance of passport and requested Sushma Swaraj to hear Vikas Mishra's side of the story too.

Twitterati have accused Sushma of taking a hasty decision without cross-checking facts, many even demanded her immediate resignation. In the latest development to the drama, Swaraj took to Twitter and said that since she was out of India, she was not aware of the situation. She said, "I was out of India from 17th to 23rd June 2018. I do not know what happened in my absence. However, I am honoured with some tweets. I am sharing them with you. So I have liked them."

Following are some of the appalling messages sent to Swaraj

The couple had gone to the Passport office because Tanvi wanted to get a new passport and her husband had applied for a renew.  The couple also have a six-year old daughter.
