Digital content creator and "KK Create" founder Kavya Karnatac was among the list of content creators who were detained by security personnel in the Dhaula Kuan area of New Delhi today, October 10, amid widespread security restrictions ahead of a planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The detention occurred as law enforcement agencies enforced stringent curbs across the national capital to manage an unsanctioned protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and student groups demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Security Lockdown and Police Action

Besides Kavya Karnatac, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was also detained in Gurugram. Police teams had reached Rathee's residence in Kendriya Vihar society, Sector 56, Gurugram, ahead of the planned protest in Delhi. A senior Gurugram Police official had earlier said that officers were asking Rathee not to travel to Delhi to join the demonstration.

The national capital experienced extensive travel disruptions, heavy barricading, and increased police deployments as authorities moved to prevent unauthorised gatherings. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) remained strictly enforced across New Delhi. According to reports from news agency ANI, several demonstrators, political activists, and prominent public figures were detained near transit hubs and key intersections across the city, including Janpath and Dhaula Kuan.

Background of the Demonstration

The protests stem from controversies surrounding electoral roll revisions and demands raised by the CJP alongside student organisations. Authorities had declined permission for the scheduled demonstration, citing public safety concerns and the potential for severe traffic congestion. In response to the restrictions, security forces - including the Delhi Police and paramilitary units - were deployed in large numbers across central Delhi, with multiple metro station gates temporarily closed and local traffic severely restricted.
