Hyderabad, December 14: A 108-foot-tall statue of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao will be installed in the hillock at Neerukonda in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district, is set to become the major tourist attraction in Amaravati. The local municipal administration said that the construction work for the proposed NTR statue in Neerukonda would be launched in three months. Congress MP Dr Karan Singh Writes to UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Proposes Sita Statue Along With Lord Ram's in Ayodhya.

It is expected that the statue of legendary actor NTR will be built with a budget of 406 crores. Municipal administration authorities while speaking to media said that the statue will be made of bronze, as the metal statue has better longevity compared to cement statue.

Meanwhile, a team of design consultants has submitted a few design structures for the ‘NTR Memorial project’ planned in 200 acres. It has been proposed to build a hotel, resorts, shopping centres and other facilities in the nearby area. Visitors can reach the top of the statue through lifts and there will also be a museum inside.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 31, 2018, inaugurated the tallest statue in the world i.e. The Statue of Unity, located in Narmada district of Gujarat, in a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, first Deputy Prime Minister of India. Meanwhile, a similar statue of Lord Ram has been proposed in Uttar Pradesh and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial statue in Maharashtra.
