Delhi, December 4: The central government employees can receive some good news soon. The government may reevaluate the fitting factor determination at the request of central staff unions. The government has consistently been urged by employee unions to raise the fitting factor. The employees have been asking the government to increase the fitment factor to 3.68 times basis of 7th pay commission recommendations. At present, it is 2.57 times.

The Fitment Factor is the modification of Basic Salary (Basic Pay) by the specific element. According to media sources, the government may decide to raise the fitment factor after the Union Budget of the next year. If the government raises the fitment factor three times, the employee's base pay, excluding incentives, will be 18,000 X 2.57, or Rs. 46,260. In addition, if the employees' requests are granted, the salary will be 26000 X 3.68, or Rs 95,680. The remuneration of central personnel is decided by their basic salary, fitment factor, and allowances, under the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations. Apart from this the central employees are also hoping that they receive some good news regarding DA arrears and DA hike. If their demands are fulfilled they may see a massive hike in their salaries.
