New Delhi, October 8: Ahead of Diwali festivities, the central government has reportedly decided to award a bonus to selected employees who get paid as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. Central government employees have been seeking a hike in salary and pension given to them under the 7th Pay Commission. They had demanded a Diwali bonus too. The Centre has accepted bonus-related demand. Pensioners in Madhya Pradesh to Get Increased Dearness Allowance From May 2019.

According to a report, employees of Group B and C, and non-gazetted employees will get the Non-Product Linked Bonus (NLPB). An order has been issued in this regard. The bonus has also been extended to employees with the Central Armed Forces and Para Military Forces. Employees of Group B and C, and non-gazetted employees will get Rs 6,900 as Diwali bonus, said Harishankar Tiwari, Former Chairman at AG Brotherhood — a Prayagraj-based institution. Employees belonging to Central Armed Forces and Para Military Forces would get bonus around Rs 7,000, he added.

The 7th Pay Commission had recommended a 14.27 per cent hike in basic pay of central government employees, raising minimum pay from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 month, which was accepted by the government in June 2016. Since then, central government employees have been asking to raise minimum pay to Rs 26,000 and fitment factor 3.68 times from 2.57 times.
