New Delhi, December 15: Christian Michel, the alleged middleman in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case, had arranged for the air travel and even payed for the expenses of the travel of retired and serving Indian Air Force officials, the CBI informed a Delhi court on Saturday. The Patiala House Court also extended CBI custody of Christian Michel by 4 days, as demanded by the CBI. The CBI said that it wants Christian Michel to confront with some documents and witnesses. The CBI also wants to take Michel to Mumbai, following which the Court extended the remand of the alleged middleman for 4 days.

Meanwhile, Michel's lawyer Rosemary asked the court to be allowed to submit more documents in the case.

However, the Patiala House Court refused to allow lawyer Rosemary Patrizi to meet Christian Michel in CBI Custody, along with Aljo K Joseph, the lawyer representing Christian Michel in the case.

Rosemary Patrizi, appearing for alleged middleman Christian Michel, argued in Patiala House Court that she has represented him for almost 5 years in Italy and Switzerland. And asked that the Court allows her to talk to Michel for 10 minutes. However, the CBI raised questions on her credentials after her request. Michel was produced in Patiala House court of Delhi on Saturday after his 5-day CBI remand came to an end.

The Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland VVIP helicopter deal, finalised during former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's tenure, was mired in allegations of kickbacks. The 54-year-old Christian Michel, an alleged middleman is an accused in the case along with former India's Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi among others. Michel was extradited to India on December 4 after the Dubai Cassation Court approved his extradition on November 19. (With agency Inputs)
