Pratapgarh, November 4: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker from Rajasthan was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district on Saturday. The victim was identified as 42-year-old Samrath Kumawat, who was standing on the roadside. According to locals, three to four bike-borne men allegedly attacked Kumawat with a sword on his neck and then fired three bullets at him. BJP Leader Shot Dead Outside Uttarakhand Court For ‘Non-payment of Money For Contract Killing’: Police.

Kumavat's family said that he had no enmity with anyone and everyone along with neighbours and relatives are shocked at the incident. Rajasthan police have assured that action will be taken and the attackers will be arrested. Meanwhile, police have registered a case of murder against the unidentified accused. Kumawat was working in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) cell of the BJP in Pratapgarh.

Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have condemned the murder. In a tweet, he said, “I condemn the brutal killing of BJP’s Samrath Kumawat in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. Perpetrators of such heinous crime must be severely punished. Pathetic condition of Law and order in the state is a matter of grave concern.”
