A 22-year-old man from Ahmedabad's Amraiwadi area has filed a police complaint alleging that a private video featuring him and his girlfriend was accessed from his mobile phone without his knowledge and circulated among relatives and acquaintances. According to the complaint, the video was recorded during a private WhatsApp video call on October 9, 2026, and was subsequently shared without the couple's consent, causing embarrassment and reputational harm.

Phone Borrowed For Chaniya Choli Photoshoot

According to the complaint, the incident came to light after the man's 22-year-old sister borrowed his mobile phone on October 11 to take photographs for a Chaniya Choli photoshoot. The man agreed to lend her the device.

When his sister returned the phone later that evening, she allegedly told him that her own phone had insufficient storage space and that her friend had transferred the photographs from his device to her phone.

Younger Brother Informs Him About Video Circulation

On the morning of October 13, the complainant's younger brother called him and informed him that a private video featuring him and his girlfriend was being circulated, according to the complaint.

The man subsequently questioned his sister about whether she had accessed or taken the video from his phone. She allegedly denied doing so and claimed that she had left the device with her friend while going to collect a courier delivery.

Private Video Allegedly Shared With Relatives

The complainant alleged that the video was accessed without his knowledge and shared with several people, including his aunt, younger brother, a friend's sister and other relatives.

He claimed that the unauthorised circulation of the private recording had damaged the reputation of both him and his girlfriend. The complaint seeks legal action against those responsible for accessing and sharing the video without consent.

Police have registered an FIR based on the complaint, and further investigation is underway.
