Nalasopara, January 19: Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from Palghar's Nalasopara in Maharashtra. According to ATS, the arrested people have been living in India for the last two years. ANI in a post said that the immigrants have been arrested and an investigation is underway. Assam: 31 Bangladeshi Immigrants Working In India For Past 3 Years Arrested From Guwahati Railway Station.

This comes after 21 of the fifty-four Bangladeshi nationals lodged in the Assam jails for illegally immigrating to India were deported on Saturday. The immigrants included two women who were handed over to Bangladesh officials through Sutarkandi immigration check post in South Assam's Karimganj district.

"The Bangladeshis were lodged at the detention centre in Cachar Central Jail in Silchar from where they were taken in a special bus to the border point to be handed over to the Bangladeshi authorities," Karimganj police said to PTI.
