Uttar Pradesh, November 11: A bride called off her marriage after the groom under the influence of alcohol broke into a 'Nagin dance' following the exchange of the garlands. According to a Times of India report, the groom also slapped the woman, after the latter refused to marry her. Police reached the spot after they came to know about the argument, however, no formal complaint was filed from any of the sides.

The boy's family agreed to return all the gift to the bride and has given it to the police in writing. The girl is an ITI holder, while the man is a college dropout. On the day of the wedding, after the 'baarat' entered, the groom's friends took him to the dance floor, and when the girl's family tried to take him off the dance area, he reportedly misbehaved with them. The argument was resolved and soon garlands were exchanged. However, the groom again went on the dance floor and started with his Nagin dance moves. The bride left from the place infuriated and called off the wedding immediately. The drunk groom and his friends allegedly misbehaved with the girl as well as her family after the wedding was called off. When police intervened, the boy's family said that both the sides would mutually agree to resolve the matter.
