Patna, October 31: Bihar Excise and Prohibition department have seized an ATM van carrying 100 cartons of liquor in Gaya's Dobhi village on Wednesday. Excise department has also arrested two people, for allegedly smuggling the liquor. While speaking to news agency ANI, the Police officials said that the matter is being investigated and they are yet to ascertain which bank the cash van belongs to. Rats At it Again? Assistant Commissioner of the Department said they were taking the seized items from Bokaro to Muzaffarpur. They said the matter is being investigated. and they are yet to ascertain which bank the cash van belong to. Bihar is a dry state where selling and consumption of liquor is a criminal offence. Bihar government in 2016 has ruled that sale and consumption of alcohol are "illegal, impractical and unconstitutional".

Earlier this month, around 1,000 cartons of the country and foreign-made liquor, which was worth about Rs 1 crore was seized in Bihar's Vaishali district. The cartons label suggested that the alcohol bottles were been brought from Punjab, Himachal and Haryana state. The occupants of the residence where liquor was stocked fled from the spot and search operation are been carried out to catch the accused.
