Lucknow, December 4: Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General (Law & Order) Anand Kumar on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of four people in the Bulandshahr violence and stated the 4-5 people had been detained. He confirmed that prime conspirator of the riot – Bajrang Dal’s leader Yogesh Raj – is still absconding and police have constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.

Briefing a press conference, the ADG said, “Four people have been arrested. I don't know about the organisations yet, but the main accused in the violence is Yogesh Raj who has not been arrested till now.” Stating about the investigation, he said, “We have six teams that are actively working round-the-clock in this case.” Bulandshahr Mob Violence: UP Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar Accuses RSS, Bajrang Dal and VHP for Riots; Points Fingers at BJP too

Adding more, he said, “Special Investigation Team (SIT) is already at the spot, carrying out their investigation. They will determine if this incident was preventable or not. There is Rapid Action Force (RAF), the police force that has been placed across Bulandshahr. Law and order situation is fully under control, peace is maintained across the district.”

Asked about the intelligence failure, Kumar said, “It would be premature to say it was an intelligence failure or failure of any other agency. No action will be taken against any policeman till the probe is complete.”

Kumar said that SHO Subodh Kumar would get martyr status. Among other things, the senior IPS officer said that FIR had been filed for cow slaughter and rioting against 28 people. Also, they have video footage and oral testimonies as evidence, he added. Bulandshahr Mob Violence: Bajrang Dal Leader Yogesh Raj Main Accused; VHP’s Upendra Raghav, BJYM’s Shikhar Agarwal Named in FIR Too
