Nathu La, October 1: Ceremonial Border Personnel Meetings (BPM) between the Indian Army and Chinese Army were organised on Tuesday at Natu La, Bum La, and Kibithu to celebrate the China National Day. Senior Indian officers crossed over into China to take part in the celebrations. Delegations of both countries reaffirmed their commitment towards enhancing existing cordial relations and maintaining peace. According to a report published in NDTV,  officers of the People's Liberation Army came across the border to receive India's Nathula garrison commander, Brigadier KS Dhadwal at Nathu La Pass in North Sikkim. Border Personnel Meeting Between Armies of China and India Held in Eastern Ladakh.

These border meetings between both the armies took place almost a month after a day-long standoff in Ladakh. After the scuffle, both sides called for reinforcements. However, the face-off ended following delegation-level talks between the two sides.

China celebrated its national day on October 1. The day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Chinese people on the occasion of their country's National Day, saying India cherishes its friendship with China.
