A team from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is set to visit West Bengal to demand justice following the death of a volunteer’s father, who was reportedly assaulted after an inspection of a local government school in Bankura district. The incident occurred in the Indus block of Bankura, where CJP volunteer Abdul Hafiz (also identified as Sheikh Riqhe) was allegedly targeted after participating in the organization’s "School Theek Karo" (Fix the Schools) campaign. According to CJP officials, Hafiz visited a government school he had previously attended to assess its infrastructure.
Upon returning home, Hafiz was allegedly assaulted by local miscreants linked by the outfit to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Nationwide Campaign and Ongoing Student Support
The attack coincides with the rollout of CJP’s nationwide "School Theek Karo" campaign, which focuses on auditing and improving state-run educational institutions, particularly in rural areas. Ranka highlighted that roughly 70 percent of India's population relies on government schools and voiced concern over recent widespread closures of educational facilities across several states.
Alongside the school reform initiative, CJP representatives stated they remain engaged in supporting student protests in Jharkhand concerning alleged recruitment examination irregularities, maintaining direct contact with student leaders to demand state action.
