Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had also appointed Computer Baba as a minister of state (MoS) in April last year. Four other religious leaders who were given the status of MoS by the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government were Baba Narmadanand, Baba Hariharanand, Bhaiyyu Maharaj, and Pandit Yogendra Mahant in the state cabinet.
