Cuddalore, November 14: It is reported that Cyclone Gaja will make a landfall along the coast of Tamil Nadu on November 15. On Wednesday, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy held a review meeting with other officials of various departments at Karaikal district's Thirunallar to look at the condition of Cyclone Gaja which is likely to hit the coastal district tomorrow. Schools and colleges have been declared a holiday in the district on Thursday, as fears of Gaja arise.

In the meeting, CM Narayanasamy directed authorities to keep a stock of relief material and urged people to store drinking water. He further added if required he would camp in Karaikal to coordinate the activities. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Disaster Management Officer, Cuddalore, told ANI that, "This is a very vulnerable belt even if winds don’t do much damage the rains accompanying the cyclone are likely to. Twenty-two relief shelters have been arranged to accommodate people, also, a 24/7 control room has been placed to help people in disguise. Cyclone 'Gaja' is expected to cross the Tamil Nadu coastal area between Cuddalore and Pamban tomorrow as predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Owing to the danger the fisherfolk have been advised to stay away from the sea.
