New Delhi, November 14: One person has been killed and eight people have been injured in a multiple vehicle collision in Delhi. According to a tweet by ANI, the collision between several vehicles took place near Meera Bagh in Pashchim Vihar. Reports inform that the driver of an SUV lost control over the vehicle and hit a cycle, a scooty, a motorcycle, a rickshaw and a minibus before coming to a halt. More details awaited.

More details awaited. Earlier this week, a 38-year-old woman was killed while her daughter was seriously injured after their car was hit by a speeding vehicle. Reports inform that the car accident took place in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area.

In another similar incident, a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) on November 12 awarded over Rs 40 lakh to the family of a 55-year-old man who was killed after coming under a bus in the city while alighting. According to a report by PTI, Delhi resident Singh, who worked in the MTNL, was travelling by a DTC bus on June 1, 2014. The bus started moving as Singh was alighting from it following which he fell down and came under the bus. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died during the treatment.

MACT Presiding Officer Rakesh Kumar asked United India Insurance Company Limited, the insurer of the offending vehicle to pay Rs 42,66,016 as compensation along with interest to the family of Rajinder Singh.
