The incident reportedly took place on July 24, at the DLF Camellias residential complex located in Sector 42, Gurugram. The undated video, covertly recorded through a window by an unidentified witness, shows a woman - identified by police as Ruchira Sachdeva - shoving, pulling the hair of, and grabbing the face of a domestic help inside a kitchen area.

The person filming the incident can be heard in the audio urging viewers to intervene, alleging regular mistreatment and the confiscation of the worker's phone. Social activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), tagging Gurugram Police, Haryana Police, and the Chief Minister’s Office to demand official intervention.

Investigation and Arrest After Video Surfaces
Following the online backlash, Gurugram Police responded to the post and initiated a preliminary inquiry. Investigators determined that the altercation stemmed from a workplace dispute. Authorities subsequently confirmed on X that Sachdeva had been arrested and included in the investigation in accordance with legal procedures, reiterating the department's commitment to public safety and order.
In its post, the Gurugram police said that the assault took place after an argument over work. "In the case, the accused woman Ruchira Sachdeva (52 years) was arrested/included in the investigation as per rules," Gurugram police said. Initial reports indicated that the domestic help had earlier provided a written statement declining to pursue legal action. However, law enforcement proceeded with the investigation after the assault video went viral and public pressure mounted.
