According to health officials, a large number of dog-bite patients arrived at the Uruwa Primary Health Center following the sudden increase in attacks. Dr. JP Tiwari, the in-charge medical officer in Uruwa, said that a large number of dog bite patients arrived on Sunday and were administered TT injections and anti-rabies doses.
Those with more serious injuries were referred to the district hospital for further treatment. Chief Medical Officer Rajesh Jha said dog bites suddenly increased in Uruwa on September 6, resulting in 42 people receiving anti-rabies injections. Three of those affected were referred to the district hospital because their condition was considered critical and they required immunoglobulin injections. Health authorities are continuing to monitor people who were bitten to ensure they receive the necessary treatment.
The incidents have left local residents concerned about the presence of stray dogs in the area.
