Panaji, December 22: Workers of Indian National Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday clashed in Goa's Panaji after a protest rally led by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, general secretary Satish Dhond and minister Vishwajit Rane went out of control. The BJP had organised the march outside Goa Congress headquarters against the Congress and its president Rahul Gandhi for raking up the Rafale Jet issue. Congress Stages Protests in U'khand Day After BJP Workers Storm Its Headquarters.

In the video posted by ANI, Tendulkar can be seen allegedly flinging a ‘thali of samosas’ and flowers, triggering commotion. The incident, which occurred around 4:30 pm on December 22, saw verbal clashes between the Congress and BJP workers. Despite a strong presence of Police, it was difficult to manage the crowd. BJP state president Vinay Tendulkar who was present at the protest told ANI, "There was no clash as such; we were peacefully carrying out the protest. 10-12 Congress workers came and abused us and harassed our women. They attacked us, destroyed our flags. Clash was instigated by the Congress party."

However, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress (GPMC) president Pratima Coutinho, alleged that she was abused by the BJP members."I was abused by male BJP workers, the worst part is that the police also behaved like the puppets of the BJP," she said. Later, Coutinho filed an FIR against BJP workers for allegedly molesting him during the clash. BJP worker Kavika Kandolkar also filed a police complaint alleging that she was abused by the Congress workers in the same clash.
