In a tragic incident, five members of a family, including three children, were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their home in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida area. The deceased have been identified as Mahesh, 37, his wife Lalita, 35, and their children Laddu, 11, Mishti, seven, and Sakshat, 3, according to a police statement.

The incident took place in the Rabupura police station area of Greater Noida, inside Nagla Padam village. Preliminary investigation points to possible food poisoning after the family was found unresponsive on Saturday morning. Police noted that the family reportedly consumed tea and Maggi as their last meal. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the circumstances surrounding their deaths are being probed. Manipur: 78 People, Including 75 BSF Personnel, Hospitalised After Food Poisoning.

Forensic Inspection and Collection of Food Samples

Upon receiving the information about the family’s deaths, local police, senior officers, an ambulance and a team from the food safety department rushed to the spot. A field unit and a forensic team conducted a thorough inspection of the site and collected scientific evidence.

Food safety officials collected remnant kitchen items, water samples, and food residue from the premises for laboratory testing to verify potential chemical toxicity or food adulteration.

Reports of Frothing and Last Meal Inquiry

According to local residents and the mother of the deceased, Mahesh, the family members had consumed noodles the previous night. The family had reportedly gone to bed at around 10:00 pm after eating. When none of the occupants emerged or responded to morning calls from relatives and neighbours, people grew suspicious and entered the home, discovering all five individuals dead on the bed.

Frothing at the mouth was reported, although officials did not confirm its significance in determining the cause of death. Investigators are currently reviewing whether the deaths stem from acute accidental contamination, severe food-borne poisoning, or foul play.

Autopsy Findings to Determine Next Legal Action

Police said preliminary findings suggested possible food poisoning, but stressed that the exact cause of death would be established only after postmortem examinations and further scientific investigations.

Further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem reports and the results of other investigations. Authorities added that viscera samples will be preserved during the autopsies to assist forensic testing in establishing the exact timeline and chemical cause behind the fatalities.
