Sonipat, January 14: In a shocking incident, a speeding car lost its control and ran over seven people, who were sleeping inside the railway station premises at Haryana's Sonipat, reported news agency ANI. After the accident, the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals. According to reports, Creta crashed the barricades and ran over people. There were five people in the car, who were reported in an inebriated condition, Dainik Jagran reported. The driver was a 19-year-old youth from Haryana's Panipat. The police nabbed two of them, while three managed to flee. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier, in a similar incident from Haryana, Gurugram police arrested a man for violating traffic rules and endangering the life of traffic police. The drunk man was stopped by the traffic cop for driving on the wrong side. But instead of stopping, he dragged the cop for more than 100 metres on the bonnet of his car. Later, the accused was arrested and his vehicle was seized.
