Ahmedabad, July 7: Incessant rainfall in Gujarat has triggered flood-like situation in Tapi district. A close look at the video released by ANI shows the area has been reeling under severe flood-like situation due to incessant rain in the region.

On Friday, an 8-inch rainfall was reported from Songadh in Tapi District, flood-like situations were observed in Mindhola and Ambika River of the district.

Heavy rains lashed several parts of south Gujarat, particularly Valsad, Surat and Navsari districts earlier this week, causing water-logging and throwing normal life out of gear in the region.

Reports informed that monsoons have been delayed in the region as rains usually hit the state by June 15. According to the state revenue department, this delay has been the longest in several years.

Earlier this week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Gujarat issued a  heavy rainfall warning for south Gujarat, Saurashtra and parts of east-central Gujarat on Thursday.

Meanwhile, IMD Gujarat director Jayanta Sarkar had informed that a fresh cyclonic circulation lies over south Gujarat and Saurashtra, because of which widespread rains are expected over south Gujarat, parts of Saurashtra and east-central Gujarat.
