According to the family, they questioned the school management over why religious recitations were included as homework. They also alleged that this was not the first such instance, claiming similar instructions had previously appeared in the student's diary.
School Removes Teacher
Following the controversy, the school issued a termination order dismissing the teacher, identified as Shaik Aisha Parveen, with immediate effect. The termination letter stated that the teacher's services had been discontinued and that she would not be considered for future employment with the institution. Police Complaint Filed
The student's parents lodged a complaint with the Saidabad Police, alleging that the assignment caused distress to the child and was inappropriate in an academic setting.
Police said they have received the complaint and sought legal opinion from the Public Prosecutor. A case is being registered against the school management under relevant legal provisions, and the matter is under investigation.
Protests Outside the School
The incident also prompted protests outside the school by BJP workers on Thursday. Police detained several protesters as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the area.
The demonstrations added a political dimension to the controversy, with demands for action against those responsible for assigning the religious homework.
Debate on Religious Content in Schools
The episode has reignited discussion on the inclusion of religious material in school assignments, particularly in institutions catering to students from diverse backgrounds. While the school has acted by terminating the teacher, the police investigation is expected to determine whether any further legal action is warranted. Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while the inquiry is underway.
