A NEET aspirant from Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar district died by suicide after reportedly being distressed over scoring 166 marks in the medical entrance exam. Police recovered a handwritten note in which she said her family was not responsible for her death.

A National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) aspirant allegedly died by suicide in Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar district after reportedly being upset over her exam score, police said.

She was found hanging in her room at around 4.30 pm on Saturday.
Police recovered a handwritten suicide note in Marathi from the house. In the note, Ankita expressed gratitude to her parents and brother for their constant support and said they should not be held responsible for her death. She wrote that despite her family's sacrifices during her NEET preparation, she felt she had failed to fulfil their expectations. She also requested her brother to take care of their parents and ensure they never faced any hardship.
Police have registered an accidental death case and further investigation is underway.
