Independence Day 2019: President Ram Nath Kovind to Address Nation Via All India Radio And Doordarshan at 7 pm Today

New Delhi,  August 14:  President Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation on the eve of Independence Day on Wednesday at 7 pm. All India Radio and Doordarshan will broadcast President's address in both Hindi and English languages. India will celebrate its 73rd Independence Day on Thursday.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at Red Fort in Delhi. After hoisting the Tricolur PM Modi will address the nation for the first time after coming back to power for the second consecutive time. A multi-layered security ring,  elite SWAT commandos and kite catchers, will be deployed at the venue.

Security has been tightened in the national capital and other major cities of the country to avoid any untoward incident. The Delhi Traffic Police has also issued an advisory for the Independence Day function at the Red Fort. Routes like Netaji Subhash Marg to Delhi Gate, GPO to Chatta Rail, SP Mukherjee Marg to Yamuna Bazar and Chandni Chauk to Red Fort will remain closed on August 15 from 4 am to 10 am.
