Akhnoor, March 24: The Indian Army on Saturday destroyed a Pakistan Army post opposite the Akhnoor sector on the Line of Control (LoC) in retaliation to unprovoked ceasefire violations. The video which surfaced after the incident shows the Pakistani flag flying upside down as a signal of emergency or extreme distress. "The Pakistani flag is flying upside down in the video taken yesterday In front of Akhnoor Sector where the enemy post can be seen completely destroyed," defence sources said. The Pakistani post was destroyed completely in direct firing by the Indian Army. Ceasefire violations across the border have increased after the February 14 Pulwama attack. The Indian Army has also retaliated strongly. "More than 10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in our retaliatory action along the LoC where new sniper rifles have also been used to punish Pakistani posts aiding and abetting infiltration into India and firing at Indian posts," sources said.

Meanwhile, an army jawan was martyred on Sunday after Pakistan violated ceasefire along the LoC yesterday. The jawan was identified as Hari Waker, a resident of Rajasthan, was critically injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan on Saturday night. He was soon rushed to Army Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to reports, the Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and unprovoked firing from across the border.
