Port Blair, December 22: The Indian Coast Guard has apprehended a suspicious Myanmarese vessel near Little Andaman island, the maritime security agency said Saturday. The vessel, which was held along with six crew members on December 22, is being escorted to Port Blair for further investigation, the Coast Guard said in a tweet. Rajnath Singh Commissions Indian Coast Guard Ship Varaha; Defence Minister Hints at Action Against JeM Launchpads in Balakot.

"In a swift sea- air coordinated operation on 20 Dec, @IndiaCoastGuard ship Aruna Asaf Ali detained a Myanmarese boat with 06 crew, operating suspiciously near Little Andaman Islands. Vessel is being escorted to Port Blair for further investigations on 22 Dec (sic)," read a tweet by the Coast Guard. In September too, the Coast Guard had apprehended a Myanmarese vessel near Car Nicobar islands. Six crew members had been detained. "@IndiaCoastGuard ship Rajveer, in a sea-air coordinated operation, apprehended a Myanmarese vessel with six crew operating near Car Nicobar Islands on 19 Sep," the maritime security agency had said.
