Indian Railways Announces 390 Ganpati Special Train Services, Adding Mumbai-Sawantwadi Runs
Indian Railways announced 390 Ganpati special trains (262 Central, 64 Western, 58 Konkan, 6 South Central). Indian Railways has rolled out 390 Ganpati special train services to accommodate the festive rush during the Ganeshotsav season, including four additional dedicated runs between Mumbai and Sawantwadi Road.
Statewide Special Train Breakdown
To manage festive demand alongside regular schedules, railway zones have allocated special services across networks:
- Central Railway: 262 specials
- Western Railway: 64 specials
- Konkan Railway: 58 specials
- South Central Railway: 6 services

Mumbai-Sawantwadi Road Special Schedule
Central Railway will operate four additional CSMT-Sawantwadi Road special services:

- Halts: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Karanjadi, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, and Zarap.
- Train Composition: 2 AC 3-Tier coaches, 12 Sleeper class coaches, 6 General Second Class coaches, and 2 Second Seating cum Guard’s brake vans.
Ticketing and Booking Information
- Reserved Coaches (01009): Open at Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and online via IRCTC (www.irctc.co.in) or the RailOne app.
- Unreserved Coaches: Available via the UTS ticketing system at normal fare charges.
Passengers planning travel during the festival season are advised to verify seat availability via IRCTC or PRS counters early, as high demand for Konkan-bound routes typically causes rapid waitlisting.
