The incident occurred around 9:02 AM as IndiGo flight 6E 225, operated by an Airbus A321neo (registration VT-NOG), was being positioned into Bay No. 6 following a smooth flight and landing. Passengers were evacuated using mobile manual airstairs as a standard safety precaution. IndiGo confirmed that relevant aviation authorities were notified immediately and that the aircraft has been grounded for thorough technical inspection and maintenance.
In an official statement, IndiGo emphasized that customer and crew safety remains its primary concern, adding that the plane will only return to service once necessary regulatory clearances are secured.
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) confirmed that an official inquiry has been launched to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the ground collision. Authorities cautioned against premature conclusions regarding whether the mishap stemmed from technical calibration issues, spatial positioning, or operational errors.
