New Delhi, August 31:  The Delhi Patiala House Court on Friday granted bail to all accused including former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in IRCTC scam case. The Court has directed all the accused to furnish a personal bond and a surety amount of Rs 1 lakh each. Earlier this week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed chargesheet against all the accused in IRCTC scam. The CBI's chargesheet names Lalu, wife Rabri Devi and their younger son Tejashwi Yadav among 14 others.

In July, a Delhi court had summoned Lalu Prasad, his wife and son as accused in a case related to an alleged hotel tender scam. Special Judge Arvind Kumar had directed them to appear before the court on August 31 in a case related to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two IRCTC hotels to a private firm. On April 16, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed the chargesheet in the case and said there was enough evidence against the accused.

Reports inform that the CBI had launched an investigation in the hotel tender case in July 2017 and had alleged that Lalu Yadav had used his influence as the railway minister in 2005 to award a tender to a company called Sujata Hotels to develop and operate two railway hotels in Ranchi and Puri. Also, a  total of 358 decimal of prime plot of land in Patna was transferred to Ms Delight Marketing Company Pvt Ltd, owned by the family of PC Gupta, who is a close associate of Prasad and an MP from RJD.

Former Union minister Prem Chand Gupta and his wife Sarla Gupta, former managing director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation BK Agarwal and former director of IRCTC Rakesh Saxena are also named in the chargesheet.
