Anantnag, July 13: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans including an Assistant Sub-Inspector martyred in a terrorist attack in Sheera Pora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. The terrorists fired upon the CRPF patrol party.

A few days back, terrorists hurled a grenade at CRPF camp of 180 Battalion in Pulwama’s Tral. In the attack, nine jawans were injured. On July 10, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Kundalan area of Shopian. An army jawan was also injured in the encounter.

Terrorist attacks have increased in the Kashmir valley after the death of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter in  2016. Security forces have also launched an ‘operation all-out in the valley to wipe out terrorism. According to data released by South Asia Terrorism Portal,  108 terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir till July 1, whereas 43 security personnel lost their lives. Forty-one civilians were reported dead in terrorist attacks.
