Srinagar, August 16: The Indian Army, Air Force and security forces bases in Jammu and Kashmir are asked to stay on a high alert on Friday after input of terror attack looming large after India's Independence Day on August 15. According to official sources of ANI, "Pakistan-backed terrorist groups can carry out attacks because of Pakistan's efforts to create disturbances in the valley." Jammu and Kashmir Saw No Loss of Life Despite Pakistan's Efforts to Destabilise Valley After Article 370 Abrogation.

The security forces have been put on high alert to respond to any untoward situation in the valley. Pakistan has been criticising India's move to scrap Article 370. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has also raised voice against Indian government's move. He said, "RSS goons are lynching people, threatening judges, and intellectuals. This is exactly what the Nazis did to anyone who spoke against their supremacy." Khan also said that Pakistan is ready for their "freedom" of Kashmir.

Earlier today, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam said that the valley witnessed no loss of lives despite Pakistan's effort to manufacture violence after the abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to J&K, and bifurcation of the valley into two union territories- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

"12 out of 22 districts are functioning normally with some limited restrictions in 5 districts. The measures put in place have ensured that there has not been a single loss of life," the chief secretary said.
