Jammu, December 9: Following an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Mujgund area on Saturday, mobile internet services have been suspended in Srinagar. According to a tweet by ANI, five security personnel have been injured in the encounter which is underway since yesterday. According to a report by Greater Kashmir, a police officer informed that the encounter broke at 6 pm. Deputy inspector general of police, central Kashmir range, V K Birdhi was quoted in the report saying that the forces didn’t recover any militant body so far. However, a soldier of 5 RR sustained injuries who was evacuated to 92 base hospital for treatment.

According to a PTI report, during the search operation, the militants fired upon them to which the forces retaliated, ensuring an encounter. The encounter is still underway. Reports inform that there was no official confirmation about the killing of any militant during the gunfight on Saturday.
