Gurdaspur, November 9: Congress leader and Punjab MLA Navjot Singh has reached the integrated check post before the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor. Sidhu will be part of the first batch of pilgrims of 500 devotees that will reach Kartarpur through the corridor to take part in the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev. Last month, Sidhu accepted the invitation. He had said, “I’m grateful to the prime minister for inviting me to the historic inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.” Bollywood actor and MP from Gurdaspur will also be part of the jathaKartarpur Corridor: How to Reach Dera Baba Nanak to Visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan From Various Cities of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will  inaugurate the Indian side of the corridor. Before the main event, he inaugurated the integrated check post. Speaking at the inauguration of the check post, PM Modi thanked his Pakistani counterpart for respecting the sentiments of the Indian Sikhs.

The national flag has also been hoisted at the site on a 300 feet tall post. The corridor will connect the Indian town of Dera Baba Nanak to Kartarpur’s Darbar Sahib Gurudwara in Narowal district of Pakistan, Guru Nanak dev spent the last 18 years of his life. India and Pakistan signed the agreement to finalise the formal framework for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor on October 24.
