Srinagar, August 16: In view of the current turmoil situation prevailing in Srinagar, IndiGo airlines has decided to extend a full waiver on cancellation and rescheduling of flights. The airline has tweeted saying, the full waiver on cancellation/rescheduling (fare difference, if any applicable) will be applicable for all flights to/from Srinagar till August 23. Ministry of Civil Aviation had asked airlines to keep airfares from Srinagar in check as Amarnath pilgrims and tourists were Srinagar airport after the ‘leave valley’ advisory issued by the government.

The airline's regulatory body has agreed to take steps to put a cap on airfare to and from Srinagar. Air India had reduced fares to Rs 6,715 for Srinagar to Delhi and Rs 6,899 for Delhi to Srinagar until August 15. Other airlines that had waived off their cancellation fee were-Vistara, SpiceJet and GoAir.
