The fresh details have emerged during the police investigation into Ketan's death at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Ketan Raised Concerns After Bali Trip Was Cancelled
According to police, Ketan first became worried after a planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia, was cancelled on June 6. Investigators said he told his father that Siya had started picking fights over minor issues.
"After the Bali trip got cancelled on June 6, Ketan approached his father and complained about Siya picking up fights over small issues. Ketan Questioned Family About Background Checks
Police said Ketan continued expressing doubts about the relationship even after returning from Lohagad Fort on June 14. According to investigators, he asked his father whether the family had conducted proper background checks before fixing the marriage.
"Ketan told his father that Siya's phone was often busy whenever he called her and that she frequently mentioned Chaudhary during their conversations," the official said. Police say Ketan suspected Siya was involved in another relationship and shared these concerns with his family.
However, according to investigators, his family reassured him that there was likely no reason for concern because the Goyal family was known to them through relatives.
Ketan Agarwal, a Pune-based realtor, was allegedly pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18 by his fiancée, Siya Goyal (20), and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22), according to police. The couple was scheduled to marry in November this year.
Both accused have been arrested and remanded to police custody until July 3. The investigation into the case is ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and examine witness statements.
