Kolkata, August 6: In a shocking incident, a fourth-year  BTech student of IIT Kharagpur (IIT-Kgp) was found dead on the railway tracks, just 500 meters away from the institute. According to a Times of India report, the deceased Chander Mohan Goswami was originally from Uttarakhand, but his parents lived in New Delhi. Police are waiting for the victim's family to arrive, post which his body will be sent for post mortem. On that fateful day, Goswami had stepped out of the hostel with his friends to dine out. While returning, he went back because he had forgotten something, but never returned. His hostel mates got worried and wanted to go out in search of him. However, they were stopped at the gate. The deceased's body was badly cut under the wheels and his broken laptop and mobile were also found.  Cops contacted the IIT Kgp authorities, who identified the body.

Last week, three members of a family, including a couple, allegedly committed suicide inside their flat located in IIT-Delhi campus, police said on Friday. Gulshan Das, wife Sunita and his mother Kamta were found hanging from the ceiling fans in three rooms of the flat, said a police officer.
