Kolkata, September 2: Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata police on Monday arrested a suspected Jamat-Ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorist from Canal East Road area of the city. The arrested terrorist has been identified as 22-year-old Mohammed Abul Kashem. According to reports, the STF arrested Kashem after receiving specific inputs about his presence in the area. Arrested JMB Terrorist Remanded to Police Custody.

The arrested terrorist is a resident of Durmut village in Burdwan district of West Bengal. The police also seized incriminating articles from Kashem’s possession. He has been sent to judicial custody till September 16. Police is currently interrogating the suspect. Last month, the top operative of the terror outfit, Ejaz Ahmad, was arrested from Bihar. He was in touch with other leaders of the outfit using code language on messaging sites. Ahmad is a resident of Birbhum district of West Bengal. He was remanded to 14-days judicial custody. According to reports, Ahmad was involved in the 2018 Bodh Gaya blast. He was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Explosive Substances Act.
