Virudhunagar, April 7: In a shocking case reported from Tamil Nadu, a photojournalist was manhandled and thrashed for clicking pictures of empty chairs at Indian National Congress's public meeting. In the incident took place on Saturday in Virudhunagar district, the journalist from a Tamil weekly magazine was assaulted by Congress party workers when he was taking pictures of the empty chairs.

Reacting to the same, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suryah said, "Tamil Nadu Congress President KS Alagiri to participate in public meeting at Virudhunagar. Chairs are empty with no people, media takes photographs of empty chairs & Congress goondas enter scene to thrash the journalists for taking pics of empty chairs! Way to go @RahulGandhi!"

In a similar incident from April 6, Congress spokesperson lost his cool and thew a glass of water at BJP counterpart KK Sharma after he called him a "traitor". The incident took place during a live TV debate show, Sabse Bada Sawal, on News24. In the attack, no one was injured but the pieces of glasses were splattered over the studio.
