New Delhi, April 7: With just a few days left for voting for the first phase of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the political parties are busy attacking each other with sharp criticism. The political parties are trying to prove to voters that they are best. In a similar case, Indian National Congress spokesperson Alok Sharma threw a glass of water on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson KK Sharma. The incident took place during a live TV debate show, Sabse Bada Sawal, on News24.

In the video, which is going viral on social media, Alok Sharma can be seen losing his cool after the BJP spokesperson KK Sharma calls him a "traitor" multiple times. Angry over the traitor remark, Sharma assaulted the BJP counterpart by throwing a glass of water on him. The debate, reportedly over politicisation of Indian forces, had two national party spokesperson and two retired Army personnel. The argument was happening over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's remark "Modi Ki Sena" when Alok Sharma lost his cool.

In the incident no one was wounded, water splashed over News24 anchor Sandeep Chaudhary's jacket and pieces of glasses were splattered over the studio. The anchor had to change his outfit to continue the remaining programme.

The BJP spokesperson asked Sharma to apologise for his conduct. At the same time, Alok Sharma continued his stand and demanded an apology for being called a traitor.
