Satna, August 22: In a major breakthrough for Madhya Pradesh police, three people were arrested on Thursday from Satna district for allegedly for having links to a Pakistan-based syndicate, which was running fake lottery schemes in the district. Two others were also detained in the matter. According to reports, of the three accused, one named Balram Singh was also arrested by the state police in 2017 for involvement in spy racket. The other two accused arrested today were identified as Sunil, and Shubham. All three accused are from Satna district. Meanwhile, the identities of the two people detained were not revealed yet.

According to a report published in India Today, all the five people were in regular touch with at least 15 Pakistani nationals through WhatsApp. Their mobile phones were seized. The police said that the accused used Chinese SIM box enabled fake telephone exchanges to dupe Indian citizens. The money is then used by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for carrying out its operations in India. Indian Army Soldier Arrested For Spying in Meerut Cantonment.

Singh’s named cropped up during an interrogation with two alleged spies of ISI – Satvinder Singh and Lucky by Jammu and Kashmir Police in November 2016. Investigations further revealed that these people were leaking security information to Pakistan regarding the movement of Indian troops.
