New Delhi, September 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation on the 48th edition of his radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. During his radio programme, he paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. He said that there must be hardly any Indian who does not feel proud of the forces. The Prime Minister further added that yesterday the country celebrated ‘Prakaram Parv’ commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the Surgical Strikes conducted by the Indian Army in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He also appreciated the Indian forces for their contribution in United Nations Peacekeeping Missions.

PM Modi also hailed Indian Navy Officer Commander Abhilash Tomy for showing courage and resilience in a tough time. Commander Tomy was rescued after he was seriously injured due to a storm in the Indian Ocean during Global Globe Race.

The PM during his radio programme invokes Mahatma Gandhi. He said, “October 2 will be special this year as it marks the start of Gandhi Ji’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations.” He remembered former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri during his address to the nation. He said that the nation would pay tribute to the former prime minister along with Mahatma Gandhi.

The Prime Minister also congratulated people for the success of Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement. During the Mann Ki Baat, he lauded National Human Rights Commission for creating awareness about human rights and checking its misuse. In the ended his address by extending wishes of Navratri and Vijay Dashami to the people of the country.
