Three people were killed and another suffered critical injuries after a speeding BMW crashed on Mumbai's Coastal Road and fell off a bridge in the early hours of Sunday, September 20.
Mumbai, September 20: Three people were killed and another suffered critical injuries after a speeding BMW crashed on Mumbai's Coastal Road and fell off a bridge in the early hours of Sunday, September 20.
The black BMW was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali when the driver allegedly lost control. The vehicle hit a boundary wall before falling off the bridge. The Coastal Road Control Room received information about the accident at around 5:20 am.
Three Killed, One Critical
All four occupants of the BMW were rushed to Nair Hospital, where doctors declared three of them dead on arrival. An unidentified 20-year-old man was admitted to the trauma ward and remains in critical condition.
Two of the deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Shanay Gajjal and 17-year-old Dhirya Seth. The third victim, a 25-year-old man, has not yet been identified. Mumbai-Nashik Highway Crash: 4 of Family, Including 2 Children, Killed as Car Rams Truck.

BMW Severely Damaged
The BMW suffered extensive damage in the crash. The car reportedly tore through a signboard hanging from the bridge before falling. Its roof was pushed inwards, the windshield was shattered and the front end was completely crushed, with the bumper torn off and internal components exposed.

Earlier Supercar Racing Case On Coastal Road
The crash comes weeks after Mumbai Police filed a case against six to seven supercars, including a Lamborghini, BMW M2 and BMW Z4, for allegedly racing inside the Coastal Road tunnel.
The cases were registered on September 3 under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for alleged negligent driving and endangering life or personal safety.
