Motorists travelling from Pune towards Mumbai on the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway will face a traffic diversion on Wednesday, August 12, as the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) carries out maintenance work, road-marking activities and mock drills on the newly opened Missing Link.

According to MSRDC, the Pune-Mumbai carriageway of the Missing Link, also referred to as the Connecting Link, will remain closed between 12 noon and 3 pm on August 12. During the three-hour restriction, vehicles travelling towards Mumbai will be diverted through the Ghat section of the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Missing Link Landslide: Videos Show Fallen Debris After Continuous Rain; Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) Target Maha Govt.

Missing Link To Remain Closed From 12 Noon To 3 PM

The traffic restriction will apply specifically to the Pune-to-Mumbai carriageway of the Connecting Link. Officials said the closure is required to facilitate scheduled maintenance, repair, road-marking work and mock drills on the route. The restriction is temporary and will remain in place only during the scheduled three-hour period.

Pune-Mumbai Traffic To Take Old Ghat Route

Vehicles travelling from Pune towards Mumbai during the affected hours will be diverted to the Ghat route on the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Motorists have been advised to factor the diversion into their travel plans and use the alternative route during the closure. Authorities have also asked drivers to follow traffic instructions at the site and cooperate with personnel managing the diversion. Tushar Bhumkar Dies: Congress Worker Killed After SUV Collides With Mini Truck Inside Pune-Mumbai Expressway Missing Link.

Mumbai-To-Pune Route To Remain Open

The Mumbai-Pune lane of the Connecting Link will remain open during the maintenance work. This means motorists travelling from Mumbai towards Pune will be able to continue using the Connecting Link during the scheduled closure of the opposite carriageway.

Helpline Numbers For Motorists

MSRDC has advised motorists to contact the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Control Room or the Highway Police if they face difficulties during the diversion.

The information supplied for the helplines contains two different sets of numbers. One advisory lists the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Control Room at 9822498224 and the Highway Police at 9833498334.

A separate version lists the Expressway Control Room at 9822481224 and the Highway Police Department at 8433481234. Motorists should therefore verify the applicable helpline numbers through the latest official traffic advisory before travelling.

The traffic arrangement will apply from 12 noon to 3 pm on Wednesday, August 12, after which the Connecting Link is expected to reopen to Pune-bound and Mumbai-bound traffic as per the scheduled arrangements.
