Mumbai, December 26: In an unusual incident, a woman in Mumbai gave birth to a baby on a platform of Dadar Railway station in Mumbai on Monday. According to a tweet by ANI, the 21-year old woman identified as Geeta Deepak Wagare, gave birth to a baby while she waited for a train to Pune. The woman was waiting with her husband at Dadar for a train to Pune. Reports inform that both, the mother and the baby were later admitted to hospital for further treatment. In a similar incident on September 2, a 27-year-old woman gave birth to a baby on a platform of Bhusawal railway station in Jalgaon district Maharashtra. According to details by railway officials, the woman, Kanchandevi delivered the baby while she was travelling from Mumbai to Lucknow in Pushpak Express. According to a PTI report, the woman started experiencing severe labour pains as soon as the train arrived at Bhusawal station in the evening.  Woman Gives Birth To Baby On Bridge At Nalasopara Railway Station. 

In July this year,  a woman gave birth to twins at Kalyan railway station near Mumbai. The woman, a resident of Ghatkopar area in Mumbai, gave birth to a girl and a boy. According to a report by news agency ANI, the woman, Shaikh Salma Tabassum, was travelling in LTT-Visakhapatnam Express train when she gave birth to the twins. The mother was helped by two lady constables – Neelam Gupta and Surekha Kadam – who were on duty at the Kalyan railway station.
