Navi Mumbai, August 7: Another incident of youth racing bikes on Vashi's Palm Beach Road has surfaced where a speeding SUV killed a bike racer on Sunday morning. Reports inform that the biker was killed after being hit by the car as the driver was under the influence of alcohol. According to a report by TOI, the car also rammed into a mini-truck prior to the accident and injured its driver.

Reports inform that the incident took place around 3.15am on the Vashi lane near Vazirani Sports Club junction in Nerul. The deceased has been identified as Vishal Ganesh Patil (21), a resident of Vetalpada, Desai village in Thane district. Soon after Police was intimated, the man was rushed to NMMC hospital in Vashi but he was declared brought dead on arrival.

The report informs that the Nerul police arrested Hemant Mishra, a resident of MHB Colony, Abhyudaya Nagar, Kalachowkie in connection with the road accident. The driver has been booked for drunk driving and causing death due to rash and negligent driving.

The Police initiated an action into the matter after a police complaint was lodged by the mini-truck driver, Rashid Shaikh (36). The tempo driver, who sustained an injury near his right eye, is a resident of Murud, Raigad, who was heading to Colaba to deliver fish.
